Rocky Hill CT Town Information


Rocky Hill Connecticut is situated on the west bank of the Connecticut River, eight miles south of Hartford and is home to The Rocky Hill-Glastonbury Ferry which crosses the river to Glastonbury, and is the nation's oldest continuously running ferry.

Rocky Hill CT has an active Parks and Recreation Program with programs to please all age groups and interests. Rocky Hill has also just recently completed a $1,000,000 renovation project at Ferry Park which much improved the boat launch areas and added a handicapped accessible fishing pier.

Rocky Hill Connecticut is also home to Dinosaur State Park, which is one of the largest dinosaur track sites in North America. Preserved beneath a huge geodesic dome, you are able to see an amazing display of dinosaur fossil tracks that were made more than 200 million years ago. The center includes more than two miles of nature trails and the Dinosaur State Park Arboretum which has more than 250 species of plants and other living representatives of plant families which appeared in the Age of Dinosaurs.
